C5 Medical and Surgical Unit Pediatrics

RISING STAR - INPATIENT CATEGORY


C5 MSP is a 28-bed unit that provides comprehensive inpatient care to children and families with a broad range of conditions, from the common to the extremely rare. The unit supports 17 pediatric  subspecialties. C5 staff and nurses specialize in everything and provide thoughtful and compassionate care to some of the most complex and challenging patients and families in BCH-San Francisco. MSP nurses are also the physician’s eyes, ears, hands and voices, as well as teachers of new residents.


 

UCSF Balance and Falls Center

RISING STAR - OUTPATIENT CATEGORY


The Balance and Falls Center at UCSF evaluates and recommends treatment for various causes of vertigo, dizziness, and balance problems. Our experts assess patients with state of the art diagnostic equipment to determine if potential causes of vertigo, dizziness, and balance problems are coming  from the vestibular system in the inner ear, and subsequently recommend treatment. The center is  committed to fostering a multidisciplinary approach, where experts from different fields (including  audiology, otolaryngology, neurology, and physical therapy) collaborate together to help determine  the best treatment for a dizzy patient.


 

Mission Bay Adult Acute Care

PINNACLE - INPATIENT CATEGORY


Adult Acute Care is part of the inpatient Adult Cancer and Women’s Health Hospital at Mission Bay. We are an Acute Care Unit comprised of two floors (A5/6) with a total of 56 beds with 124 staff  members. The staff exemplify PRIDE by providing compassionate, high-quality, and patient/family- focused care to a culturally diverse patient population. Together we work to provide the best possible patient experience to our Surgical Oncology and Women’s Health population.


 

Post-Lung Transplant

PINNACLE - OUTPATIENT CATEGORY


UCSF Lung Transplant Program provides comprehensive care to patients with advance lung disease before and after lung transplantation. Since the inception of the program, we have given more than  700 patients a better chance at a longer, more active life. We perform around 50 transplants annually  and have been rated the top lung transplant program in the U.S. for higher than expected survival rate for eight years running. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to providing the best care possible  and supporting our patients through their transplant evaluation, surgery and beyond.
