She also educates patients on how to improve their health and quality of life, and how to reduce their risk of cancer recurrence. She has more than 25 years of experience in oncology nursing. Laffan earned her master's degree from UCSF's adult-gerontology nurse practitioner program, with a subspecialty in integrative medicine. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.

In addition to working in UCSF's clinics, she has cared for patients in the hospital, including the intensive care units. In 2010, Yee was honored with the UCSF Medical Center PRIDE Award.

Gautham Iyer has been a Nurse Practitioner (NP) on the Advanced Lung Disease Service for over seven years. He manages inpatients with an expertise in surgical critical care, ECMO, and procedural services. Gautham is a devoted educator to novice NPs and is faculty at UCSF’s School of Nursing. He is active with UCSF Health’s ANCC Accredited NP Fellowship and lectures graduate academic programs. He maintains a deep passion for advancing the role of NPs. Gautham graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BSN and BA in Religious Studies and received his graduate degree at UCSF with an emphasis in Integrative and Complementary Healing. At home, he is married to a Spanish teacher and is a father to active boy-girl twins.
